Self-Reliance Starts Here

At Knux Garage, we believe the best way to save money and ensure your vehicle’s reliability is to understand the machine you're driving. Our workshops aren't lectures—they are hands-on, small-group sessions designed to take the intimidation out of the engine bay.

We provide the professional-grade shop environment, the specialized tools, and the technical guidance. We provide the vehicle and you provide the labor. Whether you’re looking to master your first oil change or tackle a full brake service, our Workshops are here for you.We provide you with the knowledge, and ensure you perform the work safely, correctly, and with total confidence.

The Foundation of Vehicle Longevity

Stop guessing what’s happening under the caps. This hands-on workshop covers the "Lifeblood" of your vehicle—the essential fluids and filtration systems that keep your engine running cool and clean. We move beyond the dipstick to show you how to accurately inspect, test, and service the systems that dealerships often overcharge for.

Fluids and Filters
$99.00

Master the "lifeblood" of your machine. This 2-hour, hands-on workshop is designed to bridge the gap between the driveway and the dealership, giving you the professional guidance and shop floor access needed to take control of your vehicle's most vital systems.

Learn to identify, inspect, and service the fluids that keep your engine, transmission, and braking systems operational. We don’t just show you how; we get you under the hood and on the lift to perform the work yourself in a professional shop environment.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Oil & Filter Service: Proper drainage, filter removal, and selection.

  • Fluid Identification: Identifying where on your vehicle these fluids are: Oil, Coolant, Brake, Transmission, Power Steering, and Washer fluids.

  • The "Knux Inspection": Learning to spot leaks, contamination, and degradation before they become critical failures.

  • Waste Management: Proper disposal and shop safety protocols.

ROADSIDE RESILIENCE

Field Repair for the Modern Driver

When a dash light comes on or a tire goes flat, have no fear. This workshop is built on the principle of self-reliance. We teach you how to read your vehicle’s distress signals and perform the critical tasks that turn a potential breakdown into a minor detour. It’s about having the “Can Do” mindset: stay calm, diagnose the problem, and execute the fix.

Roadside Resilience
$99.00

Don’t let a flat tire or a dead battery turn into a crisis. Roadside Resilience is a tactical "survival" course for the modern driver. Designed for new drivers, commuters, and anyone looking to stop paying the "convenience fine," this workshop provides the grit and guidance needed to handle common roadside emergencies with confidence.

We move beyond the owner's manual to teach real-world techniques for staying safe and mobile on the Rochester roads. By the end of this session, the "mystery" of the shoulder-side repair is gone.

Key Technical Skills:

  • The Safe Jack-Up: Using ramps, automotive jacks, and portable jack without slippage.

  • Tire Mastery: Proper lug nut torque, spare tire deployment, and pressure management.

  • Jump Start Protocols: How to jump a battery safely without damaging modern vehicle electronics.

  • Emergency Diagnostics: Identifying "Stop Immediately" vs. "Drive to Shop" warning signs.

Get to Know Your Braking System

Your brakes are the most important safety feature on your vehicle, yet they are often the most misunderstood and overpriced services at the dealership. This workshop strips away the mystery of the braking system. We teach you how to perform a professional-grade brake service on your own vehicle, ensuring every bolt is torqued to spec and every component is functioning perfectly.

Mastering the Hydraulic Braking System

Once you’ve mastered pads and rotors, it’s time to go deeper into the system that actually moves them. This workshop focuses on the "Liquid Muscle" of your car: the hydraulic lines, the calipers, and the fluid itself. We move past simple maintenance and into component replacement and system restoration. If your brake pedal feels "spongy" or your calipers are sticking, this is the class that fixes the root cause
